Window Tinting Law
The window tinting law is very clear about what window tints can be fitted to the various windows on your vehicle, to stay on the right side of the ‘Boys In Blue’ as well as passing an MOT and not risking invalidation your insurance.
With regard any wind behind the B pillar, in other words the rear windows behind the drivers and passengers front doors, you can fit any shade of window tint, as dark (or light) as you want.
On the front door windows, the maximum legal limit is 70% VLT (visual llight transmission), which mean that the film has to allow 70% of the light to pass through it.
In many cases, this is very close to any tint already fitted from the factory, although our window tints do offer some additional benefits over and above factory tints, as well as give a different sheen and look to match with rear tints a little better.
There are some companies who will fit darker films than this, but you may be stopped by the police & depending on how dark you have them, may be asked to remove them there and then, or even be stopped from driving the vehicle in extreme cases.
Should you be involved in a n accident where side visibility may have been a contributory factor, your insurance may be revoked, and you are not insured.
We DO NOT fit illegal tints that put our customers or other road users or pedestrians in a compromising position, so please do not ask us to.

The Law On Window Tints
As stated on the UK GOV website, any windows behind the B Pillar, most commonly known as the rear windows behind the drivers & passengers front doors, you are legally allowed to fit any shade of window tint to the glass.
The window tint percentages are calculated by the how much light is let into the vehicle with the respective tint installed, so when you see X% mentioned, it uses the VLT measurement (Visual Light Transmission).
Depending on your personal preference and of course your driving ability, our tints are completely Road Legal and go as dark as Limo Black (5%), to as light as Light Smoke (50%).
As well as the Rears, the UK's Window Tinting Law also allows for front door windows to be tinted in the Maximum road legal limit of 70% VLT. In many cases, this is extremely close to any tint fitted from the factory, although our tints do offer some additional benefits over and above factory tints.
